Newbie aid climber here.  Do you use carabiner with pulley for hauling to make life easier?

You want a progress capture pulley. The Petzl microtraxion is good but the pro trax is better.

I actually used to own one of those Petzl P74 thingies. I thought it might be a better alternative to my DMM Revolver aka the Personal Pleasure Pulley.  But I found it too big and clunky - kind of like a Silent Partner.  So I sold it - it might have even been to Plaidman, I forget.  

Never go up on the wall without your Personal Pleasure Pulley - the DMM Revolver! That's for sure. It will save your hands big time when stacking ropes, plus tons of other applications.
