The interactive map feature is great for finding climbs in a specific destination area. However, the features leave a bit to be desired. Finding climbs of a specific style (Trad, Sport, etc.) can be hard enough given the way the areas collapse or split apart at various zoom levels. Finding climbs of a specific level of granularity becomes somewhat of a guessing game or random chance. e.g. finding single pitch Sport climbs between 5.8 and 5.10a with at least 2 stars within a 50 mile radius and setting them on the map.
The Route Finder feature is great, however you get no quick visibility into locations of crags that have routes fitting your search criteria at a glance. This can make trip planning a bit of a chore in unknown areas. And a lot of additional clicking and iterations to get any sort of consensus.
What I think would be a great addition to the interactive map would be the Route Finder feature. It would really streamline the process of finding worthwhile crags near you for a given trip objective. Instead of the pie charts being proportional slices of Trad vs. sport vs. boulder, they might just be a number that represents how many climbs in a given area match your search criteria.
If this has been asked before, consider me a plus one on the idea! And if it exists, please let me know how I can utilize it.
Thanks!
