White Mountain Resoling--Sole On The Roll
Hey Y'all, My name is Brandon White and I am a climbing shoe resoler based in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I have recently moved my shop from Philadelphia, PA where I was heavily involved in the climbing and competition community. I work with all brands of climbing shoes and accept resole orders via mail (hope to have a few drops boxes around the area in the near future). My mission is to serve our community and the environment by providing quality repairs and keeping our favorite shoes alive and out of the landfills. Please contact me with any questions or service requests at SoleOnTheRoll@gmail.com or click the link below for the drop-off form and more information! Thank You! |

EDIT 11/16/24: Many customers have had problems with Sole on the Roll, therefore I no longer recommend giving him your business. Sounds like Brandon needs to improve his communication and turnaround time. This is good timing as I have a few shoes needing resole and don’t want to go through Rock & Resole this iteration, so I’m more willing than usual to try someone new. To be honest though I’m apprehensive seeing as your account is a single-post brand new account. Do you have some reference material for your previous work or has anyone on MP worked with Brandon before I send money into the abyss? Looking forward to doing business with you. EDIT Brandon's communication and craftsmanship was excellent. |

I haven't sent shoes to him (yet), but I met him at Rumney one Saturday back in the spring and he seemed to be approachable and knowledgeable. Definitely a real human! I've had the Sole On The Roll tab open on my phone since then but have simply been too busy to send a pair in and test out his services. |

Wow Nate stoked that you found this post! My last shop was located above the Factory at Reach Climbing and Fitness located in Bridgeport, PA. I worked on shoes directly from Reach members as well as the surrounding climbing gyms such as PRG, Gravity Vault, The Cliffs and Tufas Boulder Lounge. I also coached our Youth competitive climbing team that competes in USAC Region 82. Shoot me and Email and I will happily send some pictures of my work! |
If you did drops at climbing gyms in Portland, ME you would definitely get my business |
Psyched to see this. Drops at IME in North Conway would be great! |
Hey y'all, I have been talking with Brady and the team at IME in North Conway. They have been kind enough to allow me to setup a drop box at the store. All you have to do is scan the posted QR code to fill out a drop-off form, and hand in your shoes at the front desk. I will be making weekly or bi-weekly trips to pick up and drop off shoes! The QR links to all of my contact and pricing information as well. Please try to respect the time of the IME employees by sending your questions to me. I am happy to talk about shoes! Additionally, I have met with Chris at the Rattlesnake Campground in Rumney. There will soon be a secure drop box in the barn for Rumney climbers! Same rules apply: submit drop-off form via the QR code and I will be making trips to pick up/drop off. For now, I will be making a post on here to let everyone know when I'll be around! Stay tuned, I look forward to meeting the community! |

Hey everyone, I’ll be at Rumney this weekend for the Craggin’ Classic. Can’t wait to meet some of you and talk climbing and shoes! |
you've ghosted my friends since mid-august after the post service failed to find reach and returned the package to sender. we understand the delivery issue wasn't your fault, but refusing to respond afterwards and leaving them with no idea of when they'll get their shoes, let alone where they are, is fucked. edit: Brandon has since responded to my friend and explained the situation. as he admitted in his messages, there's no excuse for the lack of communication, but it seems that he really cares about the quality of work he provides. hopefully this is just a hard-learned lesson in customer service for a growing resoler |

Any chance you would offer bulk discount for 5+ pairs? |
10 out of 10 would not recommend a timely return of your shoes if you send them to Brandon. When I inquired about getting a pair of shoes resoled on October 6th, he responded saying his current turn around time was 2 weeks. I mailed the shoes on October 7th and they were delivered very soon thereafter (Brandon's address is literally a 45 minute drive from me). On November 18th (JUUUUST a bit longer than his anticipated 2 week turn around), I was informed that the shoes were resoled and ready to send back. Today has been a month since then and still no sign of the shoes. Maybe his work is just so damn good that it’s worth the 2+ month wait to get a pair back. Maybe I'll instantly climb a grade harder when I put them on. But just a heads up to folks looking to utilize his services, do yourself a favor and send your shoes to a reputable resoler. |
It has been quite rainy here in NH this winter so the pull up count has been high and the ice climbing pitch count is quite low! They could most certainly be lost in the mail but after Brandon said they were ready to ship back on Nov. 18th, there's been nothing but radio silence from him even after emailing him again on Dec. 2nd to check on the status. No, "They were shipped, I don't know why you haven't seen them" , "I wrote the addresses on 'em perfect" (Thats an Eminem reference), etc or anything of the sort. |
Keith, Did you not get a tracking number with the return of the shoes? The resoler should provide a tracking number once they are shipped back to you. |
Frank, nothing but radio silence since I was told (on Nov. 18th) that they were ready to get sent back to me. Edit: As I was writing this response to you Frank, I was contacted by Brandon and the issue had been resolved. |
While the dropbox is sort of out of the way in Newmarket, New England ReSole did great work on the two pairs of shoes I had resoled by them. I think you can mail to them as well, but I'm not sure. Edit: to clarify- this is a suggestion at that was prompted by the radio silence folks are mentioning here. |

Have any photos of your work, testimonials or likewise? |

I had my shoes resoled by Brandon. He did a nice job, price was good, and I’m overall very happy with the result. It took about 2 months to get my shoes back but I rotate 3 pairs so that was 100% fine with me. I never asked for them to be back by a certain time. I wouldn’t expect anything faster and most of the time resole places take even longer. Oct 7 - he let me know he got the shoes Nov 15 - I inquired about how my resole was going Nov 18 - he said they’re done and shipping shortly Nov 26 - I checked in to see if they shipped and asked for a tracking #, never got a response Dec 3 - I got the shoes |
I also had a pair resoled. This was my first time having a shoe resoled. I rotate pairs of shoes so the wait time (roughly 6 weeks) was fine by me. Communication was not an issue. Price was fair and the soles are holding up great. Great service to have in the North Conway area. |

I also Run an Instagram account that I updated frequently. @soleontheroll You can check out many of the recent repairs I have preformed and also contact me through that account. I am also a fully certified La Sportiva Authorized cobbler and dealer. Although I love the resole game, I have and will always work multiple full time jobs to make ends meet to keep this small business afloat and support my family. If any one has any questions please feel free to email me at soleontheroll@gmail.com or hop in my IG Dm's. Also happy to just chat about climbing and climbing shoes. |
I got my Katakis back within two months and they feel like brand new. I am very happy to be able to use them again. I used to have my shoes resoled back in Europe, when I was living in Germany, and the lead time was usually 6-8 weeks including me calling the shop every so often and inquire about my shoes. So, if anyone is complaining about the wait time, it is fair to have a metric to compare at least. I second Spencer: fair price & great service. |

rock climbing wrote: The rubber in the damaged toe box area is either completely removed down to the leather/synthetic or thinned out extremely close to the synthetic/leather sock. This depends on the damage and what MM the original rand rubber was in that area of the shoe. I use Vibram 7510, Davos, and Vibram 7606 Bordol for rand repairs and will match with the original factory rand rubber when possible. The goal is to seamlessly mesh the new rand rubber and the original rubber together to prevent weaknesses in the shoe. Although, a Half rand or full rand replacement will always be a better repair option when applicable. If you send your shoes back to the La Sportiva Factory for resole they will only do a full rand. Plenty of example pictures on my IG. Soon all of this educational information will be available on the new website. http://www.tahoegripworks.com Chris has some amazing information on his website if you want to educate yourself. |
