Looking for positive experience on brands of 10mm concrete screws you've used as temporary bolts. I see a few 3/8" options - the most popular seems to be TitenHD, but I don't see any in the US for 10mm. No need to be SS since it's for temporary use. Thanks!

I assume you want 10mm so you can replace them with a 10mm bolt? Could you just use 3/8" titens and then drill out the 3/8" hole to 10mm?

I could but that's a lot of extra work.

Do you just have 10mm bits you want to use up? Or 10mm glue ins that don't fit in 3/8" holes? Or another reason I can't think of?

I wonder how strong the 3/8" bolts would be in a 10mm hole? I'm guessing "strong enough" for temporary use, but I can't find anybody who has tested it.

Are you placing 8mm traditional design (BP Solid Leg, Raumer Antrax, etc) glue-ins? If so, a 3/8" hole is totally fine, Bolt Products says 9mm or larger hole:

I have no advice, but I'm curious why a removable bolt is preferred nstead of permanent ones just placing pro?

The best way to go IMO is a 1/2" x 4" titen HD from lowes, then upgrade to twist or wave bolt without having to upsize the hole:

I use fixe plated 1/2" hangers and file them out just enough to thread onto a 1/2" titen HD:

I've also had good success going from  3/8" x 6" titen HD to 10mm x 150mm BP SLBs with just brushing the hole larger with a wire brush, this is in soft limestone:

If you can tighten the concrete screw without stripping out the hole or the threads, I would think it's strong enough(not that i'd recommend it!).  But if the rock is soft, I think you're more likely to strip out the rock in the hole.  I have 10mm bits and 3/8" titens, so I will try this weekend

Are y'all able to install the titen HD screws by hand or do you use an impact driver? I've experimented with the 1/4" titen screws in hard limestone and I usually can't screw them in by hand. I've sheared the heads off a few of them trying. I suspect I'll need to get an impact driver.

I've installed the 3/8" plated Titen by hand in various igneous rock types including dacite and basalt. 3 and 4 inch lengths.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.

Fixed Hardware: Bolts & Anchors
