I just wanted to share this video with new and updated Petzl gear for 2024.

Language is Italian. Let me know if you want something translated (I’m a native Italian speaker)

One interesting item in the background...possibly a new Petzl Connect adjust with something like a thin Dyneema harness attachment point so one doesn't have a bulky knot on the belay loop?  That would be cool....

Seems to be precisely what that is.

The rest, don’t quote me, I don’t speak this dude’s language:

  • Redesign of the Attache concept under a different model name, with a round-stock basket and h-frame elsewhere
  • A locking carabiner locker to keep lockers in the Attache-size family locked
  • I can’t tell for sure but it looks like a new Attache that is still called an Attache but has the holes in the nose like the new Spirits
  • New Corax, the gear loops look new in particular? New Corax LT, maybe just colors? New Sitta, the shape is a little different and it looks like the gear loops are too
  • New Swift RL, it’s at the bare minimum a new color set but probably a tech upgrade too
  • The new Neox belay device is behind him and has already been beaten to death on MP a year before its release

Regarding Swift RL it says that it will have more power (1100lm), USB type C, red light and bike attachment.

Hey Pat! Hope you're well, when did you move on from Petzl?

Precisely. I've seen it in action, super cool concept, a good iteration.

Did they fix the weak points on their harness gear loops where if the fabric sheath material of the gear loops frayed at all the whole gear loop was susceptible to failing?

What do they say about the Sitta harness and the Sirocco helmet?

Sitta: new padding, new position for ice tool clipper attachments

Sirocco: more air flow, a better field of view when you look upward (was 16 deg in the old version, now 30 deg), same weight as the old version

Is there a projected date of when this gear will be released in the US (specifically the new sirocco helmet)?

@Ian Flesner - SIROCCO should be available in June

Is there any change to the plate/metal part of the connect adjust? Or is it just the dyneema attachment loop?

The new CONNECT ADJUST is delayed until 2025 but planned for slightly thinner rope and dyneema attachement loop.

Do we know if they're making a thinner Evolve Adjust (double tether aid climbing version) too?

This confirmed? Was holding off on replacing a way-too-old 15yo Metolius PAS till the new Connect Adjust was released. I know the harness attachment point will be dyneema, but does anyone know how much smaller the rope will be? The bulk of that rope has been the only reason I haven't bought one earlier. (I know folks are rigging it with their own smaller cord; I'm just too lazy for such shenanigans).

I talked to some Petzl reps in August 2023. The metal is changed on the new connect adjust (at least the prototype I played with), supposedly making it easier (not that easy) to release under load. I couldn't hang on it, just held it in my hands and manipulated it.

I'm excited for the RL Swift update. I hate that it doesn't have a red light. The other features aren't that amazing for me, but they don't hurt.

@Mike Larson - yes confirmed. The rope diameter is not that much smaller, moves from 9.5mm to 9.0mm but still necessary due to the lanyard standards in the EU. Easier to release under load when you want to adjust the length while leaning on the lanyard.

I don't know if it helps, but here are my two cents on the dual connect adjust. I just bought one used from a friend and was skeptical about the bulk from the rope and how it would hang on my harness. I just did a multipitch trip over the long weekend and ended up carrying it in my pack until it was time to rappel. Overall, I really liked it but it has to live in my bag until it is time to use it regardless of rope bulk. It clutters the harness pretty bad but it great to have when you are ready to descend.

FWIW, I suggest cutting off the fixed arm on the dual connect adjust.  Without the fixed arm, you can carry it over the shoulder or around your waist, without the fixed arm dangling around.

Fixed arm? What are you referring to? (pic may help) :)

I'm also curious about this.
