Two sets. One is all TCU, the other is a mix of TCU and Power cams. Not used since Metolius serviced them this spring. All in great shape. They were third and fourth sets that got little use. $230 shipped each set, Venmo.

$37 per cam with new slings, cleaning, inspection by Metolius. Has it become pretty common for people out there to use old sketchy slings on cams? I see people buying cams with old slings-- not to mention no inspection and cleaning from Metolius. If they have them reslung they'll be paying much more than I'm asking. Sketchy old slings to save $8 a cam?

Hello, multiple times a year you can find brand new power cams for $40-$45(not needing to buy 6 either). Sometimes TCU's as well.
I am sure if you added pictures from other angles showing lobe condition etc. they would be more likely to be sold.

I presume because fewer people buy and use them. I see everything else at $53 on sale. Thanks for the lobe pic suggestion. And it still doesn't explain that I see folks paying $30-40 right here on MP all the time for used Metolius cams with old slings. Makes me wonder... and the only answer seems to be people taking risks on used slings. Their lives. Certainly I have my share of sketchy times climbing, but I don't set myself up for failure with soft goods.

I've been known to scoop up a bunch of Metolii that need reslings, send them all in to be serviced ($3 a pop), keep some, and sell the rest. This tactic might explain some of the "sketchy" purchases OP is observing. A newish sling is reassuring. That said, it takes quite a bit of wear/weathering to make a sling weaker than the axle, particularly in smaller sizes. I'd never argue against a 7-year resling interval, but it's overkill in most cases. Best of luck on your sale. Looks like a fair price. Were you to part them out, I'd bet the smaller sizes at least would sell at $35 each.

The sets sold. I don't like guessing on the soft goods, so I sell reslung Metolius. It works for me because I've stuck to Metolius and can cycle out pieces of gear, get them reslung with full confidence in their shop returning a bomber cam. They keep them if not viable or replace parts, sometimes without extra charge. The resling etc service is $5 a cam now. For the math oriented, when you have to pay $15 to mail the cams there and $15 to have Metolius mail them back, you end up paying another $1.50 per cam at best. So, if you have 20 cams to send in, you pay $6.50 per cam. Best deal out there. Helping central Oregon folks out.

Thanks for the update on Metolius' pricing for reslings. Still the best deal out there!
