Like Ryan says, you can just take some tape (or paper to use for your pattern) next to your nose and cut it out. Half moon on your cheeks, triangle for your nose is going to be the general shape. I usually make them in the mirror - don't over think it.

This is a good idea. If you use KT tape (or any other brand of physical therapy tape), it shouldn't irritate your skin as badly as using climbing tape. These companies spend some money on finding glues that won't make you break out of turn red after longer use. make your own pattern for your face, then make a few of these out of tape and stick it to some wax paper. That way you can peel them off and give your skin a break or just exchange them for new ones.

Yup, that's all you've gotta do -- you can even just cut them up and keep them on the paper they come with. I mostly use the Beako Cheeko these days,

but I still have a huge roll of KT Tape from like 10 years ago that I've never used up. You can find it in most grocery stores, Target, etc. I would be a little careful with peeling them off as the adhesive is pretty strong. Looks a little goofy, but for me it's world's better than a sunburn.

Used the OuterU Faceglove this past winter on many occasions. Personally, I’m not a big fan of sunscreen and will sweat through a buff pretty quick. Haven’t used the faceglove during the summer yet but will be testing it on Shasta mid-July. Doesn’t make the face feel hot, easy to put on, hardly noticeable.

Anyone have any patterns/material suggestions for a DIY version of these face coverings?

Old Covid mask cut short and shapped around the eyes. A layer of sports tape ontop to stiffen it then a layer of k tape to make it black.

OuterU all the way. They work so well, the thicker one is great in the cold for keeping the face warmer too. I love the thinner one for warmer days.

Why not to use a Covid mask as is?

Would it work?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
