Has anyone climbed anything on Mt. Stuart yet? Hoping to climb the direct north ridge early/mid July. Seems like the Sherpa glacier might not be in good shape by then this year with the hot spring we have had? Anyone have photos of current conditions? Cheers!
We did the north ridge yesterday conditions appear to be comparable to late july or early august on the mountain for the most part.
We started and ended at stuart lake trailhead, looping back up and over stuart and goat pass after descending the cascadian. If approaching from south, there are some snowfields crossing the rock glacier that would likely be firm early morning before sun, other then that it was easy for us to avoid snow when we wanted to (We did not carry any pons, spikes or axes). Water is available at the base of the route (full north ridge) and just below summit.
Awesome, that’s great info! Did you do car to car or bivy somewhere? Thanks!
C2C, made for a longish day, but we both like cardio alot and with the amount of daylight we have now, we only needed headlamps for a little bit and the start and end of day. Get sum!!
