Opinions on BD sizing? I'm often between sizes of mens S and M, so annoying.T-shirts are on clearance right now, do they wear on the small side or not? And a slim fit puffy jacket - replacing my size small Ghost Whisperer.

I'd say the shirts are generally on the slimmer side. I'm fairly skinny and BD size med shirts fit perfect (wear size M in everything else for reference)

If between sizes I would go up in BD.

Jackets seem to run large IMO. I’m 5’10”, 160 lbs and have a womens small jacket that I wear all the time. Mens medium is roomy enough to easily layer under for me.

Maybe the sizing has changed? I have a few items from the first couple years of production that ran small, like a Stance Belay Hoody that is notably smaller than arcteryx, Patagonia, and Mountain Equipment. Also some soft shell ski touring pants that are small for mediums. The climbing specific items did seem trimmer than the downhill skiing kit.

I forgot I had a recent fleece Factor Hoody that was too boxy/wide and I got rid of because of the sizing (was more of a typical American brand sizing/fit than trim).

Here's my followup after doing an order. I'm 5'9", skinny build, although my chest is getting less skinny as I age. Generally I am Patagucci size small for jackets and other tops which are sized for climbing/alpine adventures.

The BD things...

T-shirt I ordered Small (Regular Fit), it fits well as an athletic fit. Not tight, not baggy. I'm totally happy with small as a non-baggy fit.

Puffy jacket, ordered Small also. Excellent fit with space under it for a base layer and R1, will probably be just about right. I think this jacket fits me with a little more space than I had in the MH Ghost Whisperer which it is replacing.

Collared casual shirts, ordered small and medium. The small is pretty slim, I'll keep it but it will definitely wear on the small side. The medium fits well, a little spacious, probably more appropriate for causal use unless you really like a tighter fit. Anyways, I feel that these shirts fit smaller than the t-shirt sizing.

Anyways, as usual I'm between small and medium.

I have three pieces of BD clothing, a puffer hoody bought in 2017, a t-shirt bought in 2020 and an alpine climbing pants bought in 2022. All are in similar sizes I would have gotten from Arc'teryx, Patagonia or Rab. The puffy and pants are appropriately slim, the t-shirt is a bit baggy but that's more to do with being a casual summer shirt than the fit being wrong.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
