Hey climbers.  Work has begun to add parking for climbers and hikers on Shell Road.  Shell Road is a trailhead used for climbers accessing publicly-owned Table Mountain crags such as the Grotto, Midwall, etc, as well as a popular nearby privately-owned crag.  The parking to be added will be at the beginning (northern side) of the dirt road, right after the Shell Road pavement ends and you cross the first cattle guard.  While this work is ongoing, which will be off and on for the next month or possibly longer, please do not get in the way of the heavy equipment working there.  You may not be able to drive all the way to the outhouse/second cattle guard while this work is ongoing.  This work is a collaboration between the Access Fund, the Tuolumne County Land Trust, the County, the Bureau of Reclamation, and Love Tuolumne County.  If you have questions or concerns, feel free to send me a message.

Fantastic news, Tom.  You do incredible things for the Sonora Pass climbing community. This is just the latest.

I assume you'll keep us updated on progress?
