Anyone know how the road up to boulder basin looks lately? Is it passable with a 4wd truck?

It's closed until June 30 according to this https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/sbnf/conditions/?cid=FSEPRD538928

Hopefully they get it opened before then, but I am guessing there is still some snow on parts of the road. The road is 4s01

Had some friends hike it and said it's mostly melted to OK Corral and it looks worse in the bad spots last year but otherwise fine. When I called the Ranger station they said it was "really bad and requires extensive work" so the 2 stories conflict.

I’ve been heading to Trailside Boulders, Twilight and Rolling Rock areas. It’s a nice hike up and fun climbs.

Unfortunately the Forest Service doesn't exist just to make sure our roads to climbing areas are nice. I feel lucky that they even keep the road as nice as it is and that there's the campgrounds considering how shitty so many forest roads in the state are.

The FS does not exist to serve the People.

I mean it's in the name- serve the forest
