Physical Therapist Recs Near Boulder/Golden/Denver - Shoulder and Back
|
Hey everyone, searched and hadn't seen a post within the last year, so I wanted to see if anyone had physical therapists they *really like* and would recommend, especially for shoulder and/or back injuries. Willing to drive anywhere in the Denver area or to Golden or Boulder. The injuries are from a car accident, but I'd like someone that can fit rehabbing the injuries into the context of getting back into rock/ice climbing and adjacent outdoor activities. I already went to one physical therapy place in Denver for a few months that I didn't really like and am working with other doctors to treat the injuries, but I definitely want to get back in with a physical therapist that might make a difference and reduce or eliminate the need for more invasive options like surgery. Thanks in advance! |

Dr Ingerson at Mend is the best. He's helped me through back, shoulder, and multiple tendon injuries. He's a former comp climber who will create plans specific to getting you back to climbing ASAP. and if you're a Boulder Climbing Community member your first visit is free. |

Evan Ingerson is great! Or Laura Schmonsees, DPT is excellent as well. |

Finding the right PT is very important. My right shoulder injury led me on my quest for the right approach. I tore my supraspinatus and infraspinatus rock climbing in November, but rehabbed it for ice season. I re-tore both rotator cuff exercises on January 1st ice climbing and tore my labrum and the top of my long biceps. These injuries were from my previous injury less than a year ago. I developed medial epicondylitis last May and worked on rehabbing before I hurt my shoulder for the first time. I say this because everything is connected, and an injury may manifest itself somewhere other than you suspect. My training wasn't as balanced, or focused on strengthening weaknesses, as I thought when I was pushing the grades. My form has improved on what I should be doing now and I'm not doing some exercises that I was before. Two excellent physical therapists in Boulder are: Brian Bremmer at Altitude Physical Therapy Mike Rogers with BoulderCentre for Orthopedics I also used Select Physical Therapy and they may be good depending on who you get. Good luck and don't push it too hard in your comeback. This is especially true if you are an older climber! |
