Chamonix and Grand Paradiso Alpine/ski partners in late April/May

Hey all,

I'd been planning on an Alpine trip to Chamonix for May (flying into Italy, skiing the Gran Paradiso the last weekend of April, then heading over to Cham for the month). I'm working remotely and planned to focus on weekend alpine objectives as well as give a go at skiing the Trois Monts route.

My intended partner managed to break his collarbone yesterday and will now no longer be joining the climbs. I'm pretty flexible in terms of objectives and skiing vs just climbing at this point, but would love to find anyone wanting to ski Gran Paradiso 4/29-4/30 or do any alpine climbing in Chamonix for the month of May. I personally am aiming to stay in the AD+ on down range when unguided.

Please reach out to me if you're interested in joining up for some alpine fun. Thanks!

Hi Bryan, I will be in Milan for work starting this weekend until May.  I will only have weekends off to start but am taking a week off May 13-21 to do whatever.  I won't have my skis, but I could look into renting for GP for that weekend.  I will have axe, boots, crampons etc. for basic mountaineering.  I could bring my avy gear.

I see you're from CO; I used to live in Colorado Springs, did a few 14ers, live in Oregon now.  Climbed Hood last year, skiied down from Crater Rock, which is my speed.  Just did a lap to Crater Rock again a few weeks ago.  Planning a trip to Whitney and the Mountaineer's Route in June.

Hope we can connect; DM me and you should be able to reach me on Whatsapp once I'm continental.

Cheers, John
