Taping for thin fingers

Taping for rattly fingers is easy, but does anybody have good thin finger taping strategies?

Particularly when doing 1st knuckle thumbs down jams, what's the best way to tape to protect the skin on the index and middle finger DIP joints?

Mild case below, but see the raw spot on the middle finger. Synovitis in those joints makes it particularly easy for me to lose skin there.

I use the narrower tape (or rip it so it is narrower) and apply with super glue as a single layer figure 8 shape with the cross on top of my finger. Make sure to glue the end down very well. Also if you can anticipate thumbs up vs down you can tape the with the end flap laying the correct way so it doesn’t peel. Sometimes adding another layer or orienting so the cuticle gets covered is a good idea if you are susceptible to small injuries there.

Can you share a photo? I can't quite visualize this.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
