Ideas for wax bath while doing vanlife
|
Hello! Last year I got a hot wax bath to help with arthritis pain in my fingers. It has been very helpful. I started living in my SUV and I am trying to figure out an easier and smaller way of doing the wax bath. I read that paraffin wax should not be microwaved because it can catch fire. Does anyone have experience with a small crockpot or candle warmer? I climb at a gym and work in an office. I would like to plug in whatever and have the wax warming while I climb or at work and then can take it with me on the go. Anyone have ideas or experience doing this? Thank you! |

We use a cheap walmart crock pot. It takes a while to heat up but it works fine. |

Do you have an inverter for 12v to 110, or are you looking for something to run off the SUV directly? You looked at these? : https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Paraffin-Baths/zgbs/beauty/3787271 |

I've heard of people running a crock pot off an inverter WHILE THEY WERE DRIVING, as they would not have the battery capacity without the engine running. The scenario was a crock pot meal in the trunk cooking as they drove to be ready by the time they reached their destination. |

After reading this article, I placed my order. If my fingers did not hurt and swell so much, I'd keep them crossed hoping for a good outcome. What was your usage protocol that saw result? Dedicating 20+ minutes everyday 5+ days a week is quite a commitment. Naturally, I'm trying to find the minimum dosage. |

There are lots of article out there with a variety of levels of research to blogging. I have found it helpful to use and before moving into my vehicle I was working remote 95% of the time and just tried to dunk my fingers a few times a day. I think I let the wax sit on my fingers for maybe 5 minutes or so because it cools down. More layers of wax will last longer. The biggest thing is consistency and I would do this after climbing as well. |
