Burden of Dreams...

Burden of Dreams, the world's first V17 (9A), Lappnor Finland.

Four years for Nalle to send; a few suitors have tried, but not until recently have things started looking promising.  Aidan Roberts and Will Bosi have been working a replica of the boulder in their home country (England) while Shawn Raboutou spent some time in Dec/Jan on the real thing in Finland.  Bosi, Roberts, and Stefano Ghisolfi have all published videos working the replica.  Shawn has published vids from Finland (but he's no longer there).  Bosi just flew to Finland and livestreamed attempts yesterday, doing all the moves in his first session.

You have to be a HUGE nerd to watch all of this, but I know some of you are!  All videos above are easy to find via google, but I can publish links if anyone has trouble.  The only one that's paywalled is Nalle's Lapnor Project film (it's $9).

It's looking quite likely that Burden will finally see a 2nd ascent some time in the next few months.  Or will it?!

There’s already another thread on this. Might want to add your thoughts there.

Yeah, there's a lot of trolls on the general climbing forum, thanks for posting this here! Excited to see if Will or someone else will get the repeat of this. And I must be a huge nerd because I watched all 2 hours 40+ minutes of Will's first and second sessions on the boulder.

By the way are you a professional climber / do you have sponsors who can support your travelling?

I’m not pro yet, unfortunately! I got support from a gym, but Ispent all my budget for the trip to Finland. I had support from the government since a few years, but it´s ends now so I’ll have to find a job. I hope I’ll be able to find sponsors and be a pro climber someday

Oof. Sends 3x V17. Still not a pro climber.

Personality may have something to do with it

'Pro climber' is more about being an influencer than climbing hard. Granted it helps, but there are many other facets that come into play.
Basically you work in marketing, for outdoor brands. But pro climber sounds better.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
