Same for me for the JB's.  Street size or half a size up.

I have to give it to acopa, brilliant strategy. They make shoes that fall apart unless you pay an extra hundred for custom glue.

Anyone bought the “custom” shoes? 249 bucks for the 119 fly.

It is kind of funny that they still charge people 249 even if don’t choose any of the custom options. Basically they charge 129 dollars more for hitting the custom button. Zero customization.

Any web designers willing to fix it for a free pair of shoes?

Bro what? Extra hundred? I paid $6 for some shoe glue and fixed my issue. Yes they have quality issues but they are working and improving on it. They’re TINY compared to the Italian giants.

It seems that supporting a small business isn’t for you and that’s ok. I love their rubber and excellent customer service they have provided so I’m willing to work through the issues. When I sent them my delam photos they offered a free resole when I wanted it, seems to me like they’re trying their best to work in a positive direction.

For me my street shoe size has actually been a tight performance fit and I have to size up 0.5 for a comfortable fit.

I wear USM 11 in most street and running shoes and my Novas and Merlin’s are TIGHT at 11. My Enzo’s and Aztecs are 11.5 and fit great.

I would start with your street shoe. They are good about returns if they don’t fit right.

Do the shoes stretch at all over time? ie Will the "tight" fit of street size release over time, or is that where it ends up after long term wear?

Depends on the shoe. They do stretch a little bit but the Merlin’s and Novas are still pretty tight on me. The Enzo’s are unilined (as are Merlin’s) which helps reduce stretching. In Indian Creek I felt like my Enzo’s stayed the same size the whole week. My Aztecs stretched maybe 0.25 of a size for a perfect all day fit for me.

Whats the difference between the Spectres and the Merlins? Besides colour, I'm not sure how they differ as they both seem stiff shoes... Does anyone have a preference for one over the other?

Also has anyone tried the Chameloens and can comment on them?

Haven’t tried chameleons

Merlin’s are more downturned. Specters are more of a pure edging shoe.

if you are still unsure, their customer rep usually gets back within a day with any questions about which shoe they recommend for the type of climbing do you want to do with it.

For Jason, or anyone else who’s tried both Enzo and instinct: how would you compare toe box shape between Enzo and Instinct S? I’ve got the latter, and like the fit and width, but their point is a little more toward center than my big toe likes. Also, heel fit between the two? Thanks in advance

Reviving this thread. Anybody dealt with delamination issues that were fixed by Acopa resoling them. I complained about one of my pairs and they offered to do a factory resole. The Acopa shoes just seem to fit my foot better than anything else and they split size. But on all 4 of my pairs I bought this year they have all had premature delamination issues, most notably at the toe. Shame everything else is great about them except the glue. Thinking about just sending them to a 3rd party resoler. Willing to deal with it because the rest of the build quality is pretty good and they fit my feet.

Yea this happened on the toe of Aztecs and Enzos for me. As much as I like the shoes its getting tiring to keep sending shoes to resole. They really need to change their glue or curing process.

Did you send them to Acopa or another resoler?

Been going back to Acopa as no one carries their rubber for resoles.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
