Seeking Backcountry Ski Partner

Hey all. I moved to South Lake Tahoe in November and have been getting back into skiing. I took the aiare 1 course this season and have been practicing my transitions on low angle slopes on easy terrain behind the Sierra tract.

I am itching to get out and do more beginner/intermediate routes. Some I have in mind are Waterhouse/powderhouse, angoura peak, talking mountain and even Tahoe mountain just to explore the area more. I have Fridays off and would love to make that my dedicated backcountry ski day depending on conditions.

Serious, down to meet up inquiries only please! My expectations are that you’ve taken the aiare 1 course, are familiar with avalanche rescue, can understand and read topo maps, the avalanche advisory, and the weather forecast, and make good, inclusive, safe decisions in the backcountry. Also (and sorry if this comes across as sexist), I am mostly interested in female partners at this time.

Feel free to reach out if you’re interested! Thanks. Pic for attention ha.

Hi Liv, I live in Placerville and am down to ski! I haven't done much backcountry in the greater Tahoe area but have experience (mostly cascades and Plumas county area), I have my Avy 1 and take risk seriously. I'm also looking to improve and practice ski skills. Might be fun to meet at a resort first? My partner and I are headed to Kirkwood tonight and I know they have sidecountry access (after hours and weather dependent uphill too). Not offended if you're not interested.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
