Has ever used Gravity Boots for core training?

I am considering adding gravity boots to my home training arsenal (hanging upside down from pull up bar). But i can find very little published material on them which makes me hesitant.

Biggest advantages is dual purpose great core training (specifically all ranges of motion really), doubles as inversion therapy (trying to reverse a hip alignment issue), gets me comfortable inverting (hopefully not too comfortable).

I’ve been climbing 2 years 1 month now, 5.10b outdoor climber, V3/4 gym bouldering at my local.

I’m still very much in the learning technique and flexibility portions of initial training as I come from a physical sports background and am 206 lbs. working on slimming down and lots of flexibility training.

I just wanted to check if anyone has any experience or even knows people that have used gravity boots. If I end up going for it— I’ll make sure to report back, but wanted to check the community first!

Borrowed a buddies pair, got bored real fast. Only reason he let me borrow them is because he got bored of them as well. In my experience, they have been a fad for everyone I know that’s used them. YMMV

@JT thanks for the insight! That makes sense— they seem like somewhat of a fad thing. I’ll let you know if I follow up though- the driving reason to me honestly might be decompression and hanging for the joints for something not my arms.

You'll get more use of rings as a training tool

Valid reasons. Haven’t done any research on the matter as I was using them for core training more than anything else. Well, that, and I thought I was super cool using them in my garage lol

There was a climbing magazine article in the 90s that showed Chris Sharma as a toddler using them (obviously before he got into climbing). Seems like a good enough argument to me.

I think it was the same article where Chris said something about how he didn't train but if he did he thought the best way would be to just swing around on gymnastic rings.

@Steve Love the logic haha! Thanks for the info! Ill let you know if I go for it. Its likely ... but ill probably wait till I find some good metal to weld and build my own.

saw at guy at the gym 2 days ago doing a long routine in gravity boots.  He was upside-down for at least 10 minutes.  So somebody likes them I guess.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
