Stumbled on some pictures of the Florida Mountains in southwest NM, looks like there's a ton of vertical rock there. Can't find any info about established climbing apart from a couple high point scrambles, has anyone poked around down there? Is it all choss, or is there some decent rock thats just a pain in the ass to access?

Never been there specifically, but almost all the rock I've seen in the SW of the state is pretty terrible quality. You'll find very few established climbs in the Gila as a whole, despite the relatively closer population and some insanely impressive canyons. The rock is just crumbly choss everywhere.

Good to know, any slot canyons that could be runnable down there, or is it mostly box canyons?

Been in a couple box canyons. Not sure all that's down there. The best resource I've found for the state is this: dougscottart.com/hobbies/Sl…
