Parking for biking to Safe Harbor South

Last time we were at safe harbor south we saw that a number were biking to the crag and thought it was a great idea. Does anyone have suggestions on the best parking lot for biking? That hill leading up to the Enola Low Grade trail from the normal parking lot seems like it wouldn’t be very fun with bikes.

thanks!

The best lot for biking depends on which part of Safe Harbor you are climbing. For access to South you can park at the Colemanville Church Rd, Conestoga, PA 17516. Head onto the gravel trail and make a right (North West)

For access to Safe Harbor North, consider parking at the Turkey Hill Overlook Trail, 2501 River Rd, Conestoga, PA 17516.

And for the hike-a-bike options... For South: Park on Powerhouse Rd and hike it up - this gives great access to the Cemetery/Dam wall at North as well.

One can also park at The Shenks Ferry Wildflower Preserve: 857 Green Hill Rd S, Conestoga, PA 17516, this puts you close to the 'Key West' sector of Safe Harbor South.

I can answer any more questions, I am right down the road from the place

Do a Google Map search for Colemanville Church Road parking lot.  It adds 2 miles to the approach, but that lot is at grade with the rail trail.  Be aware that there is a section shortly after the lot that gets little sun. That section can be very icy and or snowy in Feb/March.  Also, the trail, and that section in particular, can get very mushy in the salt spring  if the ground freezes followed by rain.

Also, walking the bike up the hill is not as bad as one might expect.
