“Alpine” route type

This might be a stupid question, but how do you mark a route as alpine, or rather as “not alpine”? I added a couple distinctly non-alpine routes, and somehow they acquired an “alpine” tag that I can’t figure out how to remove. The routes are in this area:

Thanks!

When you create an area you have the option to mark it as "Alpine". Possibly you checked that when creating the area? Or maybe it "inherits" alpine from the parent area?

I did not check that box, it looks like someone in charge of a containing area, Margalla hills, or even the entire country of Pakistan, may have checked it after I added the routes. Is there really no way to un-mark them as alpine?

Use "improve this page" in top right corner. Explain the issue, and the area admin can fix it, or let you know if there's a fix.

Not entirely sure what happened here, but I duplicated those routes (see here: mountainproject.com/area/12…) and they no longer show the 'Alpine' type (the parent area is not designated with the 'Alpine' type either). I assigned them to your account and copied over all content and deleted the original submissions. (Depending on when you look at them, you may notice missing Description or Location content, which is a caching bug we're ironing out. Nothing is lost, just a matter of making it viewable.)

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Quick note: I checked back and found the same routes were marked Alpine again. Another admin tipped me off that the Pakistan area was marked as Alpine so all associated routes were also getting marked Alpine. That's been cleared so hopefully this doesn't happen again.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
