Rockfall on El Portal Rd. in Yosemite Valley?

Couldn't find if this had been posted https://sierranewsonline.com/rock-slide-closes-entrance-to-yosemite/ there were two fatalities. By news accounts this happened on the road across from Elephant Rock just before Cookie Cliff. The link has a picture of the rock fall on the road. |

Considering all the earth and vegetation in the picture, I wonder if there was any related landslide. |

the San Jose couple that were killed: Georgios Theocharous, Ming Yan the Chron puts the rock fall a half mile east of the entrance station, so Arch Rock area. |

That's sad news, it's been crazy crowded in the park and Oakhurst this Holiday week!!! Last Monday the line to get in to the park from highway 41 gate was backed up all the way to the Fish Camp Store. I was not going to wait a couple hours in line to get to the gate so turned around and drove to Park Line Slap to climb on Monday, We were the only climbers there. |
 this is the place ~0.5miles from Arch entrance, 0,3 miles before Finger Licking. Somewhere between Gilet Flake and Dog Dick cliff. Never seen so much water running from the rock. Sliding continue along highway 140 |
