Mantra Sizing?

Does anyone have advice for sizing a mantra? I’m pretty comfortable in a 41 drago and slightly uncomfortable in a 39.5 solution. I’m looking for a soft beater shoe for the gym that’s comfortable but doesn’t break the bank as much as the drago and I’d love to give these a try.

I wear 43.5 Solutions and Futuras and got the same for the Mantra. Still breaking them in but they're a bit harder to slip on and off than I was anticipating. Think the sizing is about on though.

Go for your Solution size—I sized my Mantras to my performance fit and they've broken in nicely. They'll suit your needs well, but don't be surprised if you're wearing them for everything except for heel hooks.

More so just want a comfortable board climbing shoe! How would you rate the stiffness as compared to a drago?

Can't imagine a shoe being much less stiff than the mantra.  It feels like a sock when sized right and you can fold it in half with two fingers.  As another data point I'm about a 44 SS and went with 42.5 which I'm now on my second pair of. (First pair looking thin in the toes after about 6 months of 3-4x week gym use) Also tried 42 and felt the tightness hindered my footwork at that size.  They are my favorite current production shoe for indoor.  One complaint would be durability, but that comes with the 1mm rubber and Uber sensitivity.

When you get them resolved, ask for thicker rubber. I had mine resolved with 3 mm and they feel just as sensitive and actually now edge and stick to chips a bit better. I haven't noticed any changes to their efficacy on slopers.

Where did you get a resole/how much did ya pay?  I've gotten Mantras for around $110 shipped twice.  Last I checked rock and resole was charging around $70+shipping for no edge resole which I don't really want to pay given how cheap they are on sale sometimes.  Would be interested in trying this 3mm idea if I can find an economical resole.

It was $80, and I can't recommend the resoler. However I believe Tahoe Gripworks offers no-edge for around $60, and it looks like they use LS rubber from Sportiva and Geniuses, which is a mil or two thicker.

I wear a 9.5 US men's street shoe and a 40 in the Maverink. I saw the Mantra is built based on the same last as the Maverink and went with the same size.  The Mantras are a bit tighter and more downturned in the toe box and I may try half a size up for my next pair, though I'll be interested to see if they lose too much edging performance by loosening up the fit.

Recently tried out the Mantra. I wear a 45 in Solution and Skwama. The 45 Mantra was significantly smaller than either of those shoes when compared directly, and I could barley squeeze it on but it was a much tighter fit than I was looking for. Gonna try out 0.5-1 size larger and see how that works. I would warn folks that this shoe might feel smaller than your other Sportiva shoes. I think it is due to the shape of the toe box.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
