Evening folks,
Years ago when I was a young boy I went on a youth group trip to Seneca Rocks, WV. We stayed there for a week and camped, climbed, explored Dolly Sods, and explored a cave. I have tried to find the cave we were in to return and explore on future trips, but had no luck. Even asked around the last time I was in SR and no one I was able to find that visit knew much about caving. The one thing I do remember is there was a room fairly close to the entrance where there were tons of clay sculptures. I remember a large Hollywood sign, a tv with MTV popping out of the screen and tons of other sculptures. Can anyone identify this cave? thanks
That's Sharp's Cave, about 2 hours from Seneca. MTV sculpture is still there!

Sweet! Thanks a ton for the info! Is there any resource out there like a guidebook or website to give more info about access to the cave? I can’t find a ton online and if I remember correctly it was locked when I was there years ago.
Here's the access info for caves in WV, VA, MD. This list is pretty up to date, but cave access is a delicate subject and can change quickly. All caves on National Forest Property are closed in WV, so private land is all we have. Sharps has been open historically to recreational caves, but two summers ago a group became lost and had to be rescued, which is not what you want to put a landowner through. It's always a little interesting dealing with cave clubs (called grottoes) but check the National Speleological Society website for a local cave club near where you live and these folks are your hook up for the full underground beta. There's a map of Sharp's Cave in a regional guidebook, but you'll have to be an NSS member to purchase it. The national caving convention will be in Elkins, WV next summer, and this will be the place to be if you want to check out what's under the mountain state.
