Hippie rock climbers
|
I've been a vagabond for three years and am looking for punk/hippies/radical leftists with similar beliefs and relatable experiences to my lifestyle. Where y'all at? Been climbing for 5 months. Convinced there's more out there who share more interests with me than just rocks. Not engaging with any of the pokes on this thread. If you're about it please HMU. |

A whole 5 months?!! |
|
The hippies that didn't die young are collecting social security now. And yeah, 5 months is.....5 months. Hmmm....

I LOVE ROCK |

I bet you can find the types you’re describing in Seattle. That place is about as leftist as it comes. |

They started calling us hippies in the newspapers and magazines around 1967. 1965-1975, that was a very interesting time in US life. I'm not sure we ever referred to ourselves as hippies though. But freaks always recognized each other wherever we went. It really was the era of sex, drugs and rock & roll. But then LSD was made illegal in 1968. Mescaline was made illegal 1970. So things evolved. The height of the punk era was 1975-80. We saw all the great punk bands play live, in the clubs, during those years. I think Maximillian you may have been born about 50yrs too late to have relatable experiences with our hippie and punk lives! |

Call me back when you have way more months, bro. Till then, I’ll be juxtaposed here and in the cosmic continuum. |

So vagabond for three years and climber for 5 months. What sort of vagabond were you for the first 2.5 years before you turned legit ? |

Plenty of dirty hippies out there, its hard to see them when you're busy 'graming your vansion for the world to see. |

Maximilian Burton wrote: Okay, here's the simple answer. Rock climbers who live in vehicles are either holed up on a friend's couch in ski country and enjoying their winter passion, or, that vehicle is on BLM land somewhere it's warm enough to climb. If you're doing roped climbing, presumably you have belayers? Where did you pick them up? Keep chatting folks up at your gym, or whatever. Post on local climbing group forums for kind people willing to have you join them on rock. And ffs, be careful who you climb with, or stick to lowball bouldering, eh? Also don't forget all the old people on here managed to survive being young people. Definitely have fun! And right now, hope you don't freeze your ass off and have a good battery in whatever your rig is. Assuming "vagabond" has a vehicle. Best, Helen |

Think less. Climb more. |

You'll meet plenty of "out there" bohemians and weirdos at dirtbag crags, especially if you're on the road and stick around at each spot for a couple weeks. This thread is not at all representative of the climbing community I've met on the road and through the partners forum! Holy crap |
|
I fit that mold except I’m a rightist. I’m sure we could find common ground tho. |
