Experience with La Sportiva Warranty?

I have some brand new LS boots that have a manufacturer defect. I'd rather not return them since I got them for a good deal (NOT a pro deal though). Does anyone have experience with sending things in for repair/replacement? It's only one of the boots. The website is confusing because it says to just return them to the place of purchase, but then also gives info for how to warranty them.

Thanks!

I warrantied through their site for boots. Takes a day or two for warranty to be approved. Then you mail them boots, then they repair/replace. I couldn’t convince them to send me new ones first even if I paid. Took about 10-12 days in my case from sending them in to getting new ones.

My gf sent back some approach shoes that started de-layering on the sole. She bought them on sale from a local shop and was able to warranty through LA Sportiva without any problems

Depends! LS can be very formal. I had a pair of TX4 of which the leather got a tear. Did send a photo to LS their answer was go back to the shop. I order them online at different shops. I did not remember the shop, so no warranty. Though they agreed it was a manufacturing problem. Since last year 3 new pairs without any issues. TX’s are very good approach shoes.

I had a pair of leather tx guide's sole delaminate after 1 month of use.  I sent them a photo and then the shoes.  The sent me a new pair of tx 4s NOT leather.  They did demand proof of date of purchase {reciept}

Sadly the new shoes are also defective with a hole at the rand cloth junction.

I have to say I am unimpressed with both models of the tx guide.  Neither are close to the quality of scarpa zen pro which I will be buying next.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
