Hello,

It looks like Nitecore is coming out with some kind of a heated powerbank specifically for cold weather. Lithium ion batteries generally drain faster at cold temperatures and should not be recharged below freezing. This is their solution.

Thank you

According to the website, "The preheating function will be activated when connected to an external power source in low temperature environments". So, in order to keep your rechargeable battery warm, you've got to bring another battery to plug it into. Sounds kind of pointless to me, or am I missing something? I've gotten pretty good results just by keeping an Anker power bank as close to my core as possible, and using it to charge my phone when it gets too low. Bringing the phone and power bank into my sleeping bag at night helps a lot. As quickly as the phone charges in the cold, it almost seems like the power bank is re-warming the phone battery as much as it's recharging it.

Yes, the PREheating function needs an external power source.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
