Thailand - Railay / Tonsai best equipment rental shops?
|
My partner and I are headed to Krabi, Thailand (Railay Beach, Tonsai Beach) for some climbing, will be there in a couple weeks. We're going to bring our own shoes and plan to rent the rest of it (harnesses, chalkbag, belay devices, rope, quickdraws and lockers, etc). Anyone have recommended shops for doing rentals in the area? It's not clear to an outsider if every store would be reputable and have quality safety gear. Thanks |

Any of the shops nearby should have some decent rental gear. Last time I was there I went through the king climbers shop and their stuff was OK. Also had the guidebook on hand |

If you’re in Thailand right now and need someone to climb with, let me know! |

I’m in Railay rn and looking for a partner |

I’ll be there in a month or so! Would it be beneficial to bring harness/draws/grigri as well or is it easy enough to rent everything in most places in se asia? that was my original plan but would love to save the weight/space as I’ll be backpacking around for awhile |

It’ll be in the Krabi area in a week. Tried to message some of you but MP is broken rn. Feel free to reach out 1-7o1-twothreeeight-3304 |

Excellent thanks for the reference Tim! |

Have the stomach bugs started doing the rounds at Tonsai this year or did Covid give a bit of a reset? |

Do y’all find a 60m rope works fine for climbs in this area? Trying to travel with a smaller rope. |
