How thick are the most common heated socks compared to a smart wool ski sock?   I wear thin socks while climbing, but I wonder if the various heated socks will be too thick and mess with the fit of my boots?

The pair I have are less thick than my SmartWool socks. I wouldn’t think to use them for climbing or hiking though. They seem best suited to ice fishing or hunting, where one sits in place for long periods.

My mtn biking buddies that ride fatties in winter swear by the heated socks off Amazon.   4hr run times, last a season or two for $100ish.

They definitely work for climbing. The internet has tons of stories of guides skiing and climbing in them. I just scored a deal on the lenz4 and they're basically like ski socks without the shin padding.

I've used Lenz socks for years now and they work very well.
