Title says it all, I'm a shorter guy (5'4") with a small torso. Patagonia XS barely cuts it for me (fits a tad oversize). I'm fairly built, so shoulders are never a problem, but the length of jackets make me look like a dwarf. I've tried women's style jackets before, but the cut just isn't right.
Does anyone have brands that provide high performance and can fit smaller guys well? I'm open to getting used gear too, so hmu if you have anything :)
Your base layer and mid-layer you could easily get it hemmed. I had to do that with my Patagonia R1 fleece pants. They were way to long. Jackets would be harder to get hemmed. It may void the warranty when you do that.
Check Montbell. Their men's XS might fit you, but not all of their jackets are available in that size. I linked their Japan site in English which usually has a wider selection than their US site, and sometimes better prices depending on exchange rate. It's really odd and I thought it might be a bug, but I ordered Goretex pants from the .jp site because it was cheaper and it took a week to reach the US, super smooth. For hardshells you might order something custom from Made.
Edit: Montbell's men's S seems to correspond with Patagonia men's XS, so that might fit as well. Generally when I've bought Asian designed garments, they're trimmer, shorter than American brands. Their size chart lists a median height of 5'4" for Small.
