Burning sensation fingers

I apologize in advance of this has already been posted by another person. There are a lot of great topics to search through.

For a few years now when I start climbing into harder grades, I have a burning sensation in my fingers, stiffness, crunching noises, and the knuckle below the fingertip becomes swollen and bumpy. I have been working on finger strength and using power finger bands and soak my fingers and ice water. I am also working on becoming stronger and losing weight because I know this will help my fingers. I would not be surprised if I was over gripping. I mostly climb at my gym and once you hit the 5.10 level, routes are crappy, typically whenever I climb something creepy I regret it later. Does anyone else have experience with these symptoms? What did you do to help heal?

Thank you amazing climbing people!

You giving yourself sufficient rest? How often are you climbing/loading your fingers? How long have you been training? At what rate have you been increasing the training load?

Not enough information here, but sounds possibly like an inflammatory arthritis. Doesn’t sound like normal soreness/stiffness from training. If it persists you should see a doctor for tests.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
