TX2 Evo Leather sizing and stretch?

Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out the sizing on the TX2 Evo Leather .  I wear a size 41.5 or 42 street shoe, 40.5 for performance LS Katana and Solutions, and 41.5 Scarpa Vapor V as an all day comfort shoe.  The size 42 TX2 (Evo leather) is very comfortable out of the box but doesn't edge as well as the 41.5.  That said, I feel the 41.5 might be a touch tight in the toe, particularly in steep downhills.  Does the TX2 Evo leather stretch, despite the knit liner?  Thanks!

I’ve been wearing my leather tx2 evos almost daily for a few months now and have not experienced any stretch. They don’t climb as well as the original but they’re a lot more comfortable for walking on rough terrain.

Keep in mind the TX2 Leather and the TX2 Evo Leather are completely diff shoes, so be very specific about what you're buying and/or talking about, as my understanding is that the TX2 Evo is running significantly smaller than the TX2 (regular or leather of either model, seems like the evo model(s) are running 0.5 sizes small, so have to be sized up, compared to TX2/TX4

Just adding my 0.2 cents...

Just bought the tx2 evo leather in 44, same as street shoes size. It edges well and i like it a lot, but theres still some room in front of my toes. Not enought to feel wobly, but it is noticeable. Might help in longer walks if my feet get swolen. But since i dont plan to go for a long walk on them, i feel i could MAYBE have gone 0.5 size smaller.

Ps: ive tried the old tx2 once and they felt the same(non leather version)

Thanks!  How much room do you typically shoot for in front of toes in your approach shoes?

Thank you!  How much space did you size them with in the toe, or, how did you size them relative to your street shoe/climbing shoes?

I *think* I got them a half size larger than my original knit tx2s. I tried on the same size and they felt too tight.

Hey man.. These are my first approach shoes.

Since my approaches are not very distant from roads and usually regular trails, i usually use just trail runners, street shoe sizes or equivalent depending on the brand.

For the tx2's i've used them for some easy scrambling. But not edging at all(yet).

Next time. I'll try to climb something, use the edges and see how it goes.

For comparison..

Street 44

Feet 27.7cm

Tx2 44 measures 28.5(same advertised on lasportiva size chart)

Climbing shoes(tight. Can use for 2 or 3 pitches before removing)

Tcpro 42.5

Katana laces old gen 42

Maestro mid 43.5

The tip of my nail is the tip of my big toe, feels secure, with good support. But not tight(will update with edging experience later)

Just overall sizing comparison. But note that the shoes have less avaible space inside than the actual lenght

Let me know if there's anything more you want to know

They don't stretch much lengthwise.  If they're too tight when you try them on, they'll probably stay that way.

Brilliant!  Thank you!
