Looking for camping beta, and or least expensive dirt bag accommodations.  Headed to El Chorro mid November, the olive branch has online camping bookings but was wondering if this is necessary?  I'm thinking during Dec may get busy.  Any insight on camping appreciated.  Finca or olive branch.  Also looking for partners for an extended stay El Chorro, Chulilli climbing up to 7a.  Cheers. Please only useful first hand knowledge.

Wild camping is illegal but not enforced. Hardly anyone does it anymore, not even the Czechs.

OB is the best place for meeting climbers, has the best vibe, great facilities and terrific owners. Showers, wifi, closest to the crags, option to buy cooked meals. 9 euros/night for camping and if you stay a long time, they give a discount. they sell out for mid-Dec into Jan or even Feb. so you will need reservations for that time range

Finca is fine but not in the same league as OB

up to 7a is the best range for EC. No prob finding partners in Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb

Thanks Richard.  I was hoping for a discounted extended stay, not an option on the web site.

Send Mel at the OB a message with the dates you want to reserve and ask if that qualifies for a discount. Ask her what date range is likely to sell out so you can reserve at least those dates ASAP, or the entire time you will be in EC.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
