Anyone know how easy it is to sleep in your car right outside Yosemite? Im gonna have the car but don’t wanna necessarily be at a campsite the whole time and if anyone knows anywhere that’s close to the park or if you can just pull over on the side of the road or something?

If you pay for a campsite, you don't have to be there the whole time, just when you want to.

Plenty pf places to lay your head outside the gates. Some more aesthetic than others.  Also very much depends on what part of the park you want to access.
Having a truck opens up some more options than a car.
You can also park in the park and then hike 5-10 mins off the road into the great unknown and get it done real easy if you like bivy style camping.
If you sleep in your car in the park be up and at em' by 4-430am. Condensation on you windows are dead give away too that there are some hot breathers in there.
Basically the answer is yes, the places is many, the convenience is heavily variable.

If you are not familiar with Rush Creek, there is a restaurant, bar, mini convenience store, shitter, and electric car charging.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
