Strange finger injury - Pain in c3 pulley/middle phalanx when pressured

In need of advice!

I can feel a tiny hard bump on my middle phalanx/c3 (see picture below) pulley on the left ring finger, as it's almost on top of the joint area. Feel mild to moderate pain when pressured with hard objects (door handles, climbing jugs, ect). I have no reduced movement or pulley-pain. I can crimp hard on small holds with no pain, if I don't touch the affected area. I play bass guitar, and have no issues with pressuring the strings with the finger tip.

I noticed the bump and felt pain after climbing on a overhanging route with decent jugs, and it has come and gone for a month now.

When I started climbing, I tore my A-2 pulley on the same finger. My left ring finger has always been a bit weaker and slimmer than my right. I never use it on tiny pockets intentionally beacause of this.

Tried taping it up, but it feels like that does nothing because the pressure is there no matter the tape.

I had the same problem last year, but it went away after a long climbing hiatus. Obviously it helps with rest and no climbing, but I need more knowlegde to prevent it and/or train it away. I've tried reading up on this, with no clear result. I've read some about ganglion cyst, but it does not match my case completely.

Any thoughts or tips greatly appreciated!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
