Anyone used the Ondra Edition BD 8.6mm Dry Rope?

I have searched this forum/internet for reviews and feedback on the Black Diamond Ondra Edition 8.6mm Dry Rope 80m to no avail.

Has anyone used this rope? How do you like it?

I found it for stupid cheap and ended up getting one delivered for under $150..

I'm used to ropes 9.0-9.5 but wanted to try a skinny rope and this just happened to be cheap so...

My major concern is the 9.9kn impact rating on single strand.. Fine for sport but I do trad climb a lot.

Is that just too hard of a catch to use with gear or should I just preserve it for the multi-pitch sport routes?

(Yes I know this is an expert rope and especially so on gear.. I also don't plan on using this rope for climbs at my limit aka no hangdogging.)

Please let me know your thoughts!

Damn that is a good deal! No feedback on the rope tho, the smallest I have used is the edelrid swift 8.9 (eco, which is sweet and holds up to abuse really well), maybe update the forum after you have used it for a bit.

I used it in AK alpine climbing 2 seasons ago.  Brand new at the start and It lasted ~50 pitches of climbing off the KIA. Retired it after that trip. Very happy with it for the 2 weeks.

Obviously it’s designed for high end sport, but it’s a good alpine single line as well.

For sure! Will update after I try it.

About what I thought. Thanks for the info.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
