New Ultralight Poop Case, the Alpinshart!

I had to run errands and take a phone call while Sam was at the shop today. Sam has spent a total of 1 hour at a sewing machine, ever. I usually do that and Sam shows up at times I need help getting going on a new pattern. I came back in the shop and he’s taken scraps of Challenge Ultra 800 and started a 4.5oz 4-day poop tube. Obviously the usage for the bag could be anything, basic bolting bag, pitons, whatever.

What is completely insane is the Wallpinist 65L haul bag FITS INSIDE THIS POOP TUBE.

I did zero market research for the need of an $80 4.5oz poop container. Benefits are weight savings of 6.5oz over the Metolius Waste Case, and mostly packability on the approach. I suppose there’s a desire to save weight and maintain LNT ethics. Also all your wall friends will be jealous of your fancy poop tube, from a distance.

On it’s own 6.5oz may not be really significant, but my previous and next wave of products are designed as a system to reduce significant amounts of weight and bulk to make wall climbing faster and lighter!

In actual items made by myself it will look more polished. All seams fully edgebound. Give Sam a round of applause for sewing a decent circle bottom for the first time while not knowing how to thread a machine or change a bobbin. Also not sewing through his hands.

Per usual, I have a 24hr 20% off flash sale upon release of my new products. Alpinsharts will ship on October 15th!

I considered other names such as the Mud Falcon and the Poop Fortress. Funny story, back before I had any sewing machines I had a roommate that was one of those young “entrepreneur” guys. He inspired me for my first business idea which was to create an ultralight reusable and ZERO smell wag bag container. I purchased the domain www.poopfortress.com but I didn’t get too many responses from manufacturers of laminate film manufacturers with my email extension.

I also had a poor experience making shoulders straps almost 3 years ago, and totally gave up on them and backpacks. What a difference experience makes, I made a perfect set for the Wallpinist first attempt. I also sort of avoided standard vinyl/urethane haul bags since finding the materials and actually sewing them is hard work.
