Miller Fork Road Condition
Has anyone been down Miller Fork Road recently? I read it was in awful condition after the rains that flooded Kentucky a few weeks back, so bad you needed a lifted Jeep or equivalent to make it to the climbers lot. Does anyone know if the condition has improved? |
I just went down this weekend and it was a very close thing in an Outback. It's the worst I've ever seen it. I'd recommend something lifted |
Was it bad along the flat section of the drive or just the hill? |

Yeah, there's a part that gets pretty washed out right as it starts to get steep by the graffiti wall |
So if the road washes out at the base of the hill it's more the approach angle than the clearance right? I have a SUV with air suspension that can raise to 9.4 inches but the nose sticks out so far the approach angle sucks. |
The part of the hill that gets torn up is towards the top so approach angle shouldn't be an issue. Here's a pic of a car that got stuck in May for reference |
It's in pretty rough shape, wouldn't recommend for Subarus. Probably be okay in 4wd trucks/ good clearance jeeps. |
Made out there and back, super sketch, it really helps to have someone get out and direct. |
Does anyone know if they will regrade this road, or does it get better in the later season (mid october)? I remember last year getting there pretty easy in my 2wd but that was in November... |
I asked the RRGCC if they would set up a targeted fund raiser for a regrade but they skirted the question. |

There is a contractor scheduled to work on the Miller road later this month. The Motherlode hill is in the queue for Lee co. road department, but they have a massive backlog of more important infrastructure to fix after the flooding this summer. |
I didnt find Motherlode hill that challenging recently but what is getting sketch is the makeshift bridge over the drainage channel to P3. |

Just saw on their Instagram that the washed out hill on Hell Creek Rd leading to Miller Fork Rd has been repaired, as has the sketch bridge leading to the Drive By parking lot. |
Just left there. Road is fixed. |

the road is excellent - let's keep it like this! |

Between the theft post and your post which could be summarized as a guy telling a woman what a woman should be offended by I'm really starting to lose faith.. |

Unfortunately the road has deteriorated pretty significantly already. I would not recommend attempting it without a high clearance, 4x4/AWD vehicle. |
