As the title says, what do you'll use/prefer between the two? Non-MIPS versions

Comfort, durability, ventilation, strap systems?

Thanks!

I have a wall rider and love it. The vision is also a fantastic helmet. Choose which ever one you can get on sale and fits well (if you have a place to try on gear).

This thread will eventually devolve into "Foam helmet bad because I sat on my pack and broke it" so keep in mind that they are more fragile than hard shell helmets. You don't have to baby it but don't treat it like a basketball.

i have the wall rider and its really nice - light easy quick adjustment. comming from bd helmet with the ratched adjustment to the pull tabs was an adjustment- but now im used to it - more comfortable slightly less sweaty

i like that tiny little visor on the mammut one and white on top to at least minimize the dark colors on a sunny day

i have the smallest head in the world and the mammut sat just slightly lower on my forhead and was just slightly bigger than the bd so i just added an additional pad on the crown and good to go

there's a thread from a while back that has a lot of peoples' personal opinions on the wall rider. I'll link to my post on that thread if you want to read it: https://www.mountainproject.com/forum/topic/111916293/mammut-wall-rider#ForumMessage-114455626

tl;dr: great helmet, super comfortable, super light... however the exposed foam isn't super durable and will probably get damaged if you are shoving it around in your pack.

The BD vision is pretty much the same design though so I would just go into a store and see which one is more comfortable for you.

My old wall rider was great... until I broke it when it got caught on something in my pack and proceeded to pull harder thereby breaking it. My second wall rider is also great! Comfy and never feels in the way.

I would potentially advise taking a hat of some kind with you so you can size it for both winter ice and summer rock if you swing that way

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
