Best alternative to Patagonia R1 Fleece Hood?

Does it have to be fleece? Why not an active synthetic option like the Xenair Alpine Light from Rab? |

La Sportiva makes a full zip, more colorful fleece that might do you well. Idk the model, I came across it at the LS store outside of Boulder. It has big loose glove pockets inside, which really come in handy. If I’m not at work, it’s my go-to mid layer summer or winter. (Working in TV, I pretty much only wear black at work, so BD or Patagonia fleece are my go to there). |

+1 for the Mountain Equipment Eclipse https://www.mountain-equipment.com/products/eclipse-hooded-zip-t It has an offset zip like the older R1s, which I don't love as much - but if you dig around on the interwebs I think there are versions with a center zip as well. I like the functionality of the hood better on the ME than the R1, but otherwise they're very similar. |

the Ternua Rapid Top is very similar as well. very athletic fit. one of the very few pieces I had to size up (but their size chart is accurate I just didn't pay attention and ordered my regular M at first). |

The mountain equipment eclipse is the best fleece on the planet. |

I just got a barely used old style r1 in my size and favorite color for $80. My last one is finally dying after 10 years, so hopefully this one lasts me ten more |
