What's everyone's favourite Hall packs? We have classics like the fish atom smasher and the metolius mescalito but we have newer packs like the patagonia linked and BD rock blitz that don't have super burly face fabric.

So what is everyones favourite?

I wouldn't consider the Patagonia Linked a haul pack to compare to the much-burlier Metolius options. It's more just a sturdy daypack that could hold up to the occasional haul. If I was planning to haul the pack for an entire 10 pitch route, I'd definitely want one of the burlier mini haulbags like the Metolius. The Linked is an awesome small daypack though. I use mine all the time. I can't fathom why they discontinued it.

I’ve used a met sentinel for years now. “Alpine” (is there really alpine in the lower 48? Edit:  Yes probably) pack, crag bag, tag bag, occasional grocery getter, etc. I would probably just buy another one if I ever manage to make it unusable, but it seems like it’s probably got at least another 5 years.

I have a runout customs big bag for walls and large loads. Also a really pleasant bag and they make a smaller size that looks similar to the sentinel

Runout Customs Titan.

I got to preview a bunch of bags last season in the valley. Runout Customs makes the only haul bag that doesn't make you wish for death when you carry it IMO. Got mine and am absolutely loving it, although I haven't taken it up a wall yet so maybe I should shut up, but dude, it carries so nice and is made so extremely well.

Not a haul pack.

Haul packs are sub 40L and made to be hauled and climbed with on rock routes.

I’ve been using the Metolius 24L 1:1 hauling, but going to get the G7 22L when it comes out to replace it.

Indeed!

Our HAUL PACK finally combines alpine climbing weight with hauling durability. We used a proprietary fabric lined with a thin, high density foam liner to kill hard points, low profile straps, and our signature innovation to produce a pack that's lightweight (600-900g), climbs well, and hauls cleanly - without getting destroyed.

I've actually been testing the G7 Haul Packs for months now. I was so impressed I put them in the ice climbing section of the Outside Buyer's Guide, and (full disclosure) have since started working with their team on some additional development and the product release. No bag is indestructible, but they're pretty damn impressive and are my first choice for any serious mission.
