Misty mountain issues

Man where to even begin. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered a harness back in early april for a trip i had coming up for the end of may. Given that i wanted it for a the trip i opted for a regular cadillac f instead of a custom to cut down on time. It said the harness was 4 weeks to ship which would have given plenty of time. As it got closer still not contact so I called them. They told me that they were a little behind and wouldn’t be able to ship it in time for my trip. No big deal i bought a cheap harness to get by and saw it as an opportunity to add a belay loop to the cadillac f. They told me no problem they will put it in the notes. Another month and a half rolls by and no contact so i contact them. They then tell me there is an aluminum shortage for the leg buckles which is why it is taking so long. In which case i replied that mine has fixed leg loops. I asked about the extra belay loop and they said oh man there wasnt a note put in but i will make one now and no problem. Well another month later it ships. I received it today no extra belay loop and cheaper materials than the same harness I’ve tried on at shops for the outer liner on the waist. So disappointed, anybody else have issues like this with them? From what i hear they are typically the standard for good harnesses. |

Sounds like the same story as me, except I still haven’t received mine or heard from them and it has been about 12 weeks since my order was placed. This post actually reminded me I need to call them! Haha |

Almost exactly the same story for me except I cancelled the order after two months. I reached out by email several times with no response beforehand. Gave it a little longer, realizing they are sort of a smaller, boutique kinda deal. Finally, I called up and got the aluminum buckle shortage explanation and that the turnaround was nowhere near when I wanted the new harness. I cancelled my order and bought a good harness for half the price for an upcoming trip. Then I had to call back once more before they finally refunded me because when they refunded me they hadn’t actually refunded me. Whoopsies. I mean, they were friendly enough on the phone, but they should have been proactive in letting folks know about the delay, most people probably aren’t wanting to order a harness that will arrive three to four months later. If I were to try them out again I’d go through a shop that has them in stock since I wasn’t asking for a custom harness. |

Colonel Mustard wrote: Yeah i just got the cadillac f which is available on multiple sites. Oh well, its a nice harness, but their customer service succckkkssss. Same thing though, super nice on the phone to deal with, and I get it sometimes shit happens where you run into issues. Would have been nice to know though in advance and also during the process because i could have bought one on multiple different climbing trips lol. Oh well |

@3-4 years back I ordered a Titan for a project. They delayed, so I bought a used one. I love MM harness's, the Titan was beefy, but not all that comfortable. Was thinking that the MM Cadillac was perfect, but as I'd be doing some hanging and needed comfort anf freedom to climb, thought the Titan would be an upgrade from a Cadillac and would be a good thing. (it wasn't) Found my old Metolius Waldo and used that for my project instead as it was more comfortable to hang in. The weeks and months roll by....project gets sent. Then this random box arrives on the porch....WTF, whoh, nice new MM Titan harness in the box. But liking the Waldo more, both the new and old Titans just sits there. I love Misty Mountains stuff, and I own the Sonic and the Cadillac, great harnesses, but my climbing partner got so sick of me trying to figure out which way the harness went on as we were at the base, that he literally bought me a Petzl Adjuma (thanks Ujahn!!!!) as it never unbuckles and is easier for an idiot to get on. Mostly....still some issues:-) So I now have, in MM harness's, 2 Titans, 2 Cadillacs, 2 Sonics, and 2 partners making fun of me if I try to put them on. My niece and her SO are looking at taking up roped climbing so I dished off 2 of them anyway but still over stocked..... Sigh.... |

Almost a year ago a friend had some concerns with MM. Here's the thread I started for him: |
