Hello everyone?

Sorry for the dumb question but I cannot find any info on these boots. Does anybody have experience with them? Are they ok for cold temperatures.. say climbing Aconcagua?

Thanks!

No experience but any of the 6000m boots on the market would be fine for Aconcagua.

Hi Allen!

Just checked. This is not a proper double boot. Rather a internal gaiter boot which I think doesn't cut it for cold temperatures.

Might have to look elsewhere.

Thanks for the answer!

From what I just found: Nordwand 6000 High. 2-in-1 gaiter boot with removable inner boot.

In general, when a mfg says a 6000m boot it will have an inner boot that is removable, aka double boot.

I own multiple pairs of 2.1s, which I believe, are the updated versions of the TLs. Absolutely love my 2.1s. Comfort is incomparable, but they do fall short in warmth. My experience probably is relevant.

I would say, no the boots are not appropriate for a 6000M or a 7000M. Temps 0-10F will be doable, but hellish and borderline dangerous. The boot just doesn't have enough insulation. You may want to upgrade to an Intuition liner (Logans).

Great info. That is very helpful. Gotta look for a pair of spantiks then.

Thanks!
