(Local) Climbing Park City Utah

I am moving to park city this fall and want to get a read on the climbing scene. Can anyone tell me what the closest crag is? What about closest gym? It looks like there is a small crag Wasatch Back but I don’t know it. Brand new to the area so would love some beta. Thank you |

There is no scene in Park City for the most part, though there are plenty of climbers. However your backyard will be full of good trad and bolted climbing. Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons and dozens of others areas will give you all you need. Just look up Wasatch on MP. Also PC puts year near the Uinta where you will find many climbing areas at a higher elevation when cool weather is limited. Finally Provo offers you Rock Canyon, again a great place to climb near PC that is hard to beat. These are but a few. Yes there are a handful of rock outcroppings near PC, but I find them hardly worth the effort. The nearest climbing gym Momentum and is about 30 minutes or less, as is the best gear shop IME Salt Lake. These and the REI are all located in Millcreek. Good luck! |

Echo Canyon is close to Park City and has excellent sport climbing on conglomerate with easy approaches. Dry Wall is a great after work crag with routes in the 5.10 - 5.13a range, with all routes above 5.11 having permadraws. It gets shade after 2 pm. There are easier walls like Bear Hollow and Roadside Crag with 5.7-5.10 climbs. |

Come around to the Wasatch front and you have lots of good stuff-big, little, AF. Also a decent sport crag that’s near-ish to park city is Echo reservoir crag.
