Butora Altura sizing v TC pro
|
Hey everyone. Had questions about Butora altura sizing. Wanting to get any advice or recommendations on sizing. Currently wear a 42 TC pro. Also was wondering about stretch on the butora. |

In my last for-sale post, I estimated the sizing of my size 10 Altura's as being between a 42 TC and a 42 Solution in tightness feel, and way larger than the 42 Women's Miura. FWIW it's still available if you want to try it out yourself. mountainproject.com/forum/t… |

I've never had tcpros but I wear my street shoe size for alturas, and they are lined so they won't stretch like a straight leather shoe, but will a tiny bit. I refuse to pay $200 for climbing shoes and I've found these on sale for $100 twice. They fit my foot shape amazingly well. |

Logan, I recommend sizing up 0.5 to 1 euro size from your TC PROs, depending on how the latter fit. I wear TC PROs in 42 (snug fit, flat toes) and 42.5 (all day comfort), both with thin socks. (Both are the old model.) My Butora Alturas WIDE FIT are size 10 or EURO 43, and they feel like they're in between my 42 and 42.5 TC PROs. My big toes get sore more easily on small holds in the Alturas because they're not as stiff as the TC PROs, but the bright yellow/green colors of the wide fit Alturas look nicer in photos ;-) |

FWIW, another anecdotal datum... I wear size 48 (13) street shoes and my Butora Alturas are size 48 as well--with a nearly all day comfort fit. I am currently breaking in a pair of the new TC Pros, size 46. They are OK for 2-4 pitches or so, then I need to take them off... hopefully they will stretch a tiny bit more to make it my all-day shoe, but I'm 20-30 pitches on now and they are still a bit tight for more than an hour or two. The new TC Pros in 46.5 would probably be ideal for my feet for all day, but 46 is the biggest they make. (Maybe I need to try the shower technique???) Everyone's feet are a bit different, so not sure any of this really helps. |

Fan Zhang wrote: Same experience here. I wear a 43 tc pro and own two pairs of altura as well, one a 43 slim and a 43.5 wide. If I ever bought another pair, I'd go 44 wide for similar fit to the tc pro. |
