Is there any climbing at Buffalo rock state park? it looks like there might be some nice lines there from the pictures I've seen.

Thanks!

There are signs clearly stating no climbing. But across the street there’s some ultra soft sandstone if you want to scare yourself.

The land across the street is all private property. I woukd not recommend it. Locals don't take kindly to people risking their lives on the shitstone on their property.  In our area( Lasalle County, your best bet is to just drive to palisades. The stone is choss at best, and a completely avoidable accident waiting to happen. Split Rock on the I&m trail isn't bad, but your still trespassing and the railroad will prosecute

Years ago I spotted some potential at the coordinates 41.334553, -88.899043, which is just east of Buffalo Rock on Koenig Rd. I remember finding that this is county land. Do what you will with the info, but I feel for you still back in central Illinois, so will provide hope when possible.

Thanks, I'll see if I can find it. I'm trying to think of where that would be. Koenig rd rings a bell

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
