Dispersed camping near Maroon Bells

I am headed up to the Maroon Bell to climb the traverse. Wondering if there’s anywhere within striking distance where I can park my camper (23’) and sleep for the night. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The closest dispersed camping is Lincoln Creek, but whether you can get your camper down that road is a very important question.

An option that you can for sure get your camper to is along the dirt road to Thompson Creek Campground (which is dispersed camping as well) up by Carbondale.

Lincoln is out unless your pulling that trailer with a Smart Car, 35' limit on the pass.

Thompson Creek Road has a bunch of clay so don't go down there if it looks like rain, which it looks like there could be some this weekend fyi

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
