Wrist tendinitis/tendinosis

I’ve developed some wrist tendinitis in my dominant hand. No specific injury - I guess just overuse: A mix of climbing, white water kayaking, carpentry, driving, and the occasional long text message the last several months.

Anyone have experience or advice on how they overcame a stiff/swollen wrist? Thanks.

Haven't had tendonitis in my wrist, but I did just go through a sprain after a ladder fell out from under me. The two things that worked for me were rice bucket exercises and warm Epsom salt soaks while stretching.

Hey Ben, I’m also very prone to tendinitis and comes in waves when I throw in too many repetitive activities into the mix! What helps me is: 1) Rest! At least for a week, 2) a wrist brace that can be used overnight as well as during the day. 3) I have a THC / CBD balm (Dragonbalm if you’re in WA) and I do really think it’s helpful :)

Rest, gentle massage, and then once the swelling is diminished more vigorous massage of the muscles and antagonist exercise. I'm a fan of hammers and yoga, but there are many that work.

I also have wrist tendinitis from time to time. I have been suffering lately and started doing these stretches and strengthening exercises. They seem to help. Good luck

I haven’t been able to completely kick my wrist tendinitis but I found that reverse bicep curls were waaay more effective than the standard dumbell/band exercises. Massaging the extensors helps as well. I also have persistent, diffuse wrist pain- one ortho said it could be arthritis based on the X ray but unfortunately I couldn’t shell out for the MRI. I’d go see a specialist if you want real answers.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
