Replacing wires on peckers
|
Pretty sure this has been discussed before but I could not, for the life of me, find the post. I left the 3kn wires on my peckers (for now) but also added 1/2" tubular webbing loops. Is 1/2" strong enough or should I go thicker? I've read different ratings for this size, between 1600-2000 lbs., ~7-9kn. What about using cord? If so, what size? |

I had a friend bar tack some nylon loops on mine, which seems pretty ideal. If your nylon loops are knotted, you'll lose some strength. I should just cut those wire loops off... The one thing I wish I were different would be a stronger racking loop for funking them out. The paracord isn't very good for that purpose. |

What size is that webbing? For now I'll tie my own but plan on eventually sending them to Skot to get sewn slings. |

That looks 5/8th to me |

I would use cord. 5 mm cord seems fine since it handles pretty well and it is unlikley that the pecker would hold figher forces? |
