Replacing wires on peckers

Pretty sure this has been discussed before but I could not, for the life of me, find the post.  I left the 3kn wires on my peckers (for now) but also added 1/2" tubular webbing loops.  Is 1/2" strong enough or should I go thicker?  I've read different ratings for this size, between 1600-2000 lbs., ~7-9kn.  What about using cord?  If so, what size?

I had a friend bar tack some nylon loops on mine, which seems pretty ideal.  If your nylon loops are knotted, you'll lose some strength.  I should just cut those wire loops off...

The one thing I wish I were different would be a stronger racking loop for funking them out.  The paracord isn't very good for that purpose.

What size is that webbing?  For now I'll tie my own but plan on eventually sending them to Skot to get sewn slings.

That looks 5/8th to me

Correct

I would use cord. 5 mm cord seems fine since it handles pretty well and it is unlikley that the pecker would hold figher forces?

The problem with thick cord like that is it interferes with placements in a 90 degree dihedral.  Webbing sits flatter.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
